G’day there!

I’m in one of those rare moods where I’m just not feeling the words and don’t want to write a lot, so I’m not going to. But that actually works out well, because it is Film Friday after all and you’re here to watch, not read. This week’s offering is a 1952 promotional video produced by the Dudley Pictures Corporation as part of their “This World of Ours” series. Founded in 1947 by American director and producer Carl Dudley (1910-1973), it cranked out a number of travelogues on a global scale in the early 1950s, one of which featured our very own Prince Edward Island. The footage you’re about to see showcases various landscapes around the province, and while original, it has been overlaid with traditional Island music. If said music isn’t to your liking, just mute it and play something that is. Or watch it in silence. This is a free country, and far be it from me to tell you what to do.

Anyway, enjoy the show!

Cheers,
